Meet Kyle

Kyle Knutson PT, DPT, Cert. DN, Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist

Kyle is a native of Kathryn, ND. Following his undergraduate degree at North Dakota State University, Kyle received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Minnesota in 2021. He then went on to complete a Sports Physical Therapy Residency at the University of North Dakota where he received specialty training in the rehabilitation of athletes. His primary patient population was varsity athletes at UND from football, hockey, basketball, and more. He became a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist in June 2023 and earned Level 1 TPI certification in March 2024.

His areas of clinical specialty include dry needling, which he received full certification in the spring of 2022. He also has training in the use of instrument assisted soft tissue massage, cupping, and joint mobilization in addition to spinal and extremity manipulations. Kyle is a firm believer in preventative PT-identifying strength and mobility deficits, then addressing them prior to the occurrence of pain and injury. This is especially relevant in athletic populations due to the high intensity and repetitive forces that sports put on the body.

He enjoys treating patients from a variety of populations, particularly athletes in team and endurance sports. In his spare time Kyle is an avid runner himself, and spends time with his wife, daughter, and golden retriever Teddy.
