Nutrition Coaching
Sports Nutrition Coaching at Recharge Physical Therapy & Wellness
The only sports nutrition coaching in Fargo/Moorhead backed by a physical therapist.
What is Nutrition Coaching?
Nutrition and movement aren't separate problems — they're the same problem. At Recharge, your nutrition coach is also a licensed physical therapist, which means your fueling plan and your recovery plan are built by the same person, working from the same picture of your body. No handoffs. No guessing whether your nutrition coach and your PT are on the same page — because they're the same person.
Tara Jaeger, PT, is a NASM Certified Sports Nutrition Coach (CSNC), combining clinical rehab expertise with sports nutrition programming to help athletes fuel, recover, and return to play — all under one roof.

Why the Dual Credential Matters
A nutrition coach can tell you what to eat. A physical therapist can tell you how to move and heal. Recharge is built to do both — which matters most when you're recovering from injury, managing training load, or trying to get back to competition without losing ground.
Coordinated Care
Your fueling strategy is built alongside your rehab and training plan, not separately from it.
Clinical Judgment
Every recommendation is grounded in both sports nutrition science and an understanding of your movement and recovery status.
One Point of Contact
No coordinating between a nutritionist and a PT who've never spoken.

About Our Programs
What We Help With
- Everyday fueling and meal timing for training and competition
- Hydration and electrolyte strategy
- Recovery nutrition after injury or high training load
- Supplement education (what's worth it, what's not, and third-party testing)
- Body composition — assessed and discussed without obsessing over the scale
- Pre- and post-competition fueling plans
What We Don't Do
In the interest of transparency: sports nutrition coaching is not medical nutrition therapy. We do not diagnose or treat eating disorders, metabolic disease, or other medical conditions, and we do not provide weight-class cutting protocols. If your needs fall outside this scope, we'll refer you to a Registered Dietitian or your physician — and we'll tell you clearly if that's the case rather than working outside our lane.
How It Works
- Discovery Call: A quick conversation about your goals, training, and history to see if we're a fit.
- Intake & Assessment: A full intake form covering training load, current eating habits, and goals.
- Custom Plan: Practical, individualized coaching — not a generic meal plan.
- Ongoing Support: Ongoing check-ins to adjust as your training and season change.
Nutrition Coaching FAQs
Do I need to be a Recharge PT patient to work with you?
No. Fuel + Perform is for existing patients, but Individual Athlete Coaching is open to anyone.
Is this the same as seeing a dietitian?
No. A Sports Nutrition Coach provides general nutrition education and behavior coaching. We don't provide medical nutrition therapy or treat diagnosed conditions — if that's what you need, we'll refer you to a Registered Dietitian.
What age/level of athlete do you work with?
[Confirm target range — youth, high school, collegiate, adult recreational, etc.]
How is this different from just Googling a meal plan?
Individualized coaching accounts for your training load, schedule, injury history, and goals — and adjusts as those change. It also comes from someone with clinical training in how the body recovers, not just what it eats.
What does it cost?
